Choosing school meals

All Merit students are offered a choice of hot school meal every day. Alternatively, students can bring a packed lunch from home.

If your child is not entitled to free school meals, the cost from the 1st April 2023 is £4 a day or £20 a week. This includes a choice of main meal, dessert and drink.

Our meals are freshly prepared by the City Catering Service who need to have your child's menu choices 2 weeks in advance. For example, hot meals for the week commencing 4^th February will need to be ordered by Monday 21^st January. 

How to pay for school meals

If you wish your child to have school meals, payment will need to be made 2 weeks in advance using ParentPay. Merit will be using ParentPay for most of our communication including:

• Hot meals
• Uniform
• Letters
• Text messages
• Emails
• School closures
