This week Merit PRU has joined the National School Breakfast Programme (NSBP) which is funded by the Department for Education and delivered by Family Action to support schools in England. The programme means we will be able to offer a healthy breakfast to all our students at the start of the school day.
Evidence has shown that pupils benefit from having a healthy, nutritious breakfast each morning to enable them to access learning.
All children at Merit will now be provided with bagels or cereal every morning
Co-Head, Steve Winrow said,
“We are excited to be part of the National School Breakfast Programme. This is a great opportunity to not only give our students a nutritious breakfast at the start of the school day but also to impact on their readiness to learn, behaviour, punctuality and wellbeing”
